Bus Safety
Student behavior that distracts bus drivers is a hazard to the vehicle's safe operation, and jeopardizes the safety and welfare of all passengers. Misbehavior while on a yellow school bus or a Metro bus can result in disciplinary action for the student or the suspension of transportation service for the student. Read more about our requirements for student behavior on buses.
Discipline
Review CPS' Code of Conduct for disciplinary procedures.
Dress Code
Students who attend Bond Hill Academy are required to dress in their school uniform every day. The Pre-K-6 Uniform Dress Code begins the first day of school.
School colors are dark blue, khaki, or black uniform-style pants, skirts, shorts, or jumper with a white, dark blue, or light-blue collared polo shirt. Students will also be provided a lab coat that must be worn to math and science classes (to be kept at school).
Note: Extremely short shorts, biker shorts, leggings, jeggings, short skirts, tank tops, sweats, blouses exposing midriff, or blue jeans are not permitted.
Students are not permitted to wear oversized t-shirts or oversized pants, and both pant legs must be pulled down at all times. No drooping pants or undergarment exposure is permitted; all students must wear their pants around their waist with a belt. Students may not wear clothing with inappropriate words or pictures alluding to drugs or sex. Students are not permitted to write or draw on themselves at school. Children may not wear coats, hats, scarves, do-rags, bandanas, flip flops, house shoes, gang paraphernalia, excessive jewelry (large earrings, a large number of bracelets, etc.), or any item considered disruptive to learning in the school building, hallways, classrooms, etc. during the school day.
NOTE: Students who choose to dress inappropriately will be subject to disciplinary action.
CPS Severe Weather Procedures
Snow days and school delays are announced on our website, local TV and radio stations, and through automated phone calls. Assume school is open unless you hear otherwise. Learn more about CPS' severe weather and emergency closing procedures.
School Visits
We welcome visits from parents and guardians. However, to protect student safety, all visitors must sign in at the main office and wear a visitor's badge. Parents/guardians who would like a conference with their child's teacher must schedule an appointment with the teacher.
